General question
Why use a CONCATENATE formula when a simple string can give you the exact same results. Are there any benfits using CONCATENATE instead of a string. Any drawbacks to either. A string seems to be a lot easier to view Sample formulas =CONCATENATE(B1,C1) =B1&C1

Just "easyness" (That's not even a word, is it ?)
Just like there exists some formulas that no one ever use (But can be very useful) like PRODUCT, EVEN, ODD, FALSE (I didn't even know there was a function for this one !), but, some users will "need" them to understand things better. |

FYI:
Main Entry: 1con.cat.e.nate Pronunciation: kän-'ka-t&-n&t, k&n- Function: adjective Etymology: Middle English, from Late Latin concatenatus, past participle of concatenare to link together, from Latin com- + catena chain Date: 15th century : linked together Main Entry: 2concatenate Pronunciation: -"nAt Function: transitive verb Date: 1598 Inflected Form(s): -nat.ed; -nat.ing : to link together in a series or chain - con.cat.e.na.tion /(")k@n-"ka-t&-'nA-sh&n, k&n-/ noun Nothing quite like "nating" it!
