I am having trouble with Excel 2000. When I enter a simple formula in a cell the answer is incorrect. For example 5+5 equals 192086.
Ive tried to reinstall MS office twice with no help. Thanks Rob M |

This maybe an obvious question, but did you check the formatting of the cell?

I was running a spreadsheet to do some complex calculations. I noticed alot of errors on the sheet. I opened a new file to test and noticed that it was not calculating correctly. This normally works at my office. This is the first time I tried to use Excel at home.

=5+5
is 10 (I can see you're impressed so far) as Christal mentioned, could it be formatting ? I formatted 10 as custom : yyyymd and it gave 1900110, which is close did you actually type 5+5 or were they linked to other cells with maybe rounding applied ?
