hi there.
I am trying to construct a simulation to see the distribution of odds associated with predicting the top6 in a league of 20 or so teams. I suspect this would involve some monte carlo type simulation, but with the additional burden of sampling without replacing. I wonder if anyone out there has done something like this. RET79 |

Hi,
http://www.webace.com.au/~balson/InsaneExcel/Pretty.htm the last file has something which may be of use. Also, here is a bit of a primer on Monte Carlo simulation and Excel. http://www.geocities.com/WallStreet/9245/ Another link: http://www.tushar-mehta.com/ choose the SIMULATE option Your task will take a long time to set up and use properly, I believe. @Risk and Crystal Ball have add-ins for purchase for this. http://www.decisioneering.com for Crystal Ball http://www.palisade.com for @Risk (I think).
