I have a spreadsheet set up that co-workers go in and enter data into. The spreadsheet as well as workbook are protected. They only have access to certain cells to enter their data into. However, lately the strangest thing hsa been occurring. After they enter the data, save and close out, the spreadsheet hides all of it's columns all the way out to the far right. All I see on the screen is grey until I go and unhide all columns. I have no explanation for this. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Check under view to see if you are using page break preview. This will turn the screen gray.

I have Macro Virus Protection turned off. Others entering data in separate computers have it turned on. Is that what you are talking about?

try print preview and look at the option between "margins" and "close"
does it say "normal view" ? if it does, click on it back to normal view.... someone must have toggled it to "page break preview" (At liesure, check this option out though, it's very very useful) Just thought I'd re-iterate Denny's original suggestion just in case Jack's normally very useful help doesn't work ps Jack - Did you get my F1 quiz ?! |

I wish it were as easy as page break preview.
I have checked all of the simple options. I am beginning to suspect a virus. There is one particular computer that after it saves the worksheet is when the problems occur. It is hiding all of the columns upon saving. When I return to look at the sheet, it is also unprotected. I really have no idea what is going on. Does anyone know of a possible virus that could do this? |
