Boss (wife) gave me her year end client product useage report to subtotal product line and than for the whole client. The data looks like this Colume one has the client name, colume tow has the product type (FS,MS,RX), colume three the product description and colume four the total dollars spend.
What I can work out is how to subtotal the product types within a client then an overall client subtotal. And display both. For example: (raw data source) Client Product Type Product Desc. $ Total SAM FS DOG FOOD $20 SAM MS DOG DISH $40 SAM MS PLACE MAT $10 sAM RX BUG-b-GONE SHOT $30 What I need to get to, by the subtotal funtion only gives me total by client or total by product type, but not together. Thus my example would look like this: (what to build data table) Client Product Type Product Desc. $ Total SAM FS DOG FOOD $20 SAM FS Total $20 SAM MS DOG DISH $40 SAM MS PLACE MAT $10 Sam MS Total $50 sAM RX BUG-b-GONE SHOT $30 Sam RX Total $30 Sam Total $100 This was a short example of the situation, my wife has 460 clients that come to 6800 rows of data. Can someone please help out with some simple suggestions for nesting functions of maybe the subtotal commands. Thank you. |

You may want to try DATA|SUBTOTALS for group totals/subtotals!
