Shorten this formula, if it can be done

Can anyone write a shorter formula, and can you also write me a formula using a lookup table for the formula below. This formula goes in 28 line.

=IF(OR($A6=$F$2,$A6=$F$2+7),"Sun",
IF(OR($A6=$F$2+1,$A6=$F$2+8),"Mon",
IF(OR($A6=$F$2+2,$A6=$F$2+9),"Tue",
IF(OR($A6=$F$2+3,$A6=$F$2+10),"Wed",
IF(OR($A6=$F$2+4,$A6=$F$2+11),"Thu",
IF(OR($A6=$F$2+5,$A6=$F$2+12),"Fri",

What kind of data house A6 and F2: date, number, etc.? And, what is the purpose?

F2 is a date
A6 is where my timesheet line begin
