I have a worksheet, in which I have formulas. I want to issue the form to people, but I don't want them to see the formulas. They will need to add data to the form, therefore I don't think I can use the format cells/protection/hidden as this only works when you protect the sheet, and therefore the user cannot add data to the sheet.
Is there another way of hiding certain formulas in selected cells only? I am not clused up at all about VB too, unless it's a complete idiots guide! Thanks in advance for any help Helen |

Hi Helen, You can protect a sheet and still allow cells to be changed. Say you wanted to allow the user to enter data in A1:A10 but nowhere else. Select the range A1:A10 and choose Format, Cells, Protection and then uncheck the Locked checkbox. Click OK and then protect your sheet. Et voila! HTH, Dan |

Hi Helen
You can selectively choose which cells will be protected or locked. To do this, select the cells which you want to leave unlocked, from the menu bar choose format, cells, protection, uncheck locked. When you protect the workbook, all of your cells will be locked except the ones you have not locked. To select a range in which cells do not intersect, hold down the Ctrl key while doing your selections. Hope this helps you, Tom |

What was given above is correct if you only want to lock the data so that it can't be changed.
However, if you don't want to let the others change the formulas nor see the formulas, then be sure that on the Options tab, that you check both "Locked" and "Hidden."
