Project Calculation

Need to do a square ft. calculation for area for a project to determine the total square footage of a coverage area. Need formulas so I can get this done by next year LOL..Any insight is appreciated. Problem one of the genuises on here can figure this out in about 10 seconds. Here is an example row....

(7' 3 and 1/2") X (6'11") = ? then multiply this number X another single digit number. Need then to add the results from that column together and convert to square feet. I'm a rookie at this. "EXCEL"lent Board...okay, that's probably a tired one.

Use the CONVERT function ...
=(7+CONVERT(3.5,"in","ft"))*(6+CONVERT(11,"in","ft"))

and then proceed with the rest of the operation

Hi
I am concentrating on learning Excel functions and thought this would be a good opportunity to learn something new...
I adapted Yogi's function and innovated a few others to create a speadsheet which might be useful.
Figures square ft, in, yards per area/ room.
And cost per the same as well.
Will accommodate up to 30 areas...
Might be useful for someone who lays carpet, drywall, waterproofing, ect...
