Visual Basic seems to be the answer to all of my problems. I have a little bit of programming experience and would like to buy a book on VBA so I can use it to automate and customize my excel spreadsheets. Can anyone recommend a good book? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Hi,
Any of the John Walkenbach books should be a good start. When you get more advanced, you can start on the John Green/Stephen Bullen VBA texts. For a more complete list of books available, try: http://www.contextures.on.ca/tiptech.html If you want online tutorials, try one of these: http://www.microsoft.com/officedev/a.../toc/pgtoc.htm http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...mmersguide.asp http://www.microsoft.com/exceldev/e-a&sa.htm#vba Also, don't forget the Newsgroups!!!! You will learn a ton here at Mr. Excel and others. For websites, the first places to go are John W's, David McRitchie's and Chip Pearson's: http://www.j-walk.com/ss/ http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm http://www.cpearson.com I would also recommend browsing through the MrExcel site! Hi,
I forgot one. One of the most frequent posters to Mr. Excel is Dave Hawley. His site is very nice, too. http://www.microsoftexceltraining.com/ |
