..writer. (the one you have to pay for, not "reader")

Spoilsport. Actually Acrobat is the writer. Acrobat Reader is the name of the free reader.

To answer the original question, to make a PDF file out of an Excel file, you pay $249 to Adobe for the Acrobat program, read the manual and help files to learn how to use it, and then use it to make a PDF file.

$249 and it's still a crap piece of software. People that knock MS should be forced to try to create a PDF file.

I may not have used version 5, but the Ohio EPA over here insists on putting application forms on their website in pdf and wordperfect formats. Wordperfect to Word was too messy because of incompatible formats and tables and that sort of crap and we had Writer anyway. Try filling in one of those PDF's with writer and it craps out. I'm sure it's great for creating PDF's, but it sucks for editting them.

PDF's past it's sell by date anyway. It's a joke.

Hey, CHuguley:

I make PDF files out from ANY aplication with almost-freeware piece called PDF995.
Though I don't remember where in hell I got it, It works like a charm.
I think you can search for it in the Net (cn.download.com or tucows.com)

A Yahoo search immediately yields:
http://www.pdf995.com/ where you can download
