The problem i am having is that when i type the letter "t" (for example), Excel automatically inputs "Thursday" into the cell. Is there a way to turn this function off, not only for that cell but for the entire page or workbook?

Go to Tools|Options|Edit tab and uncheck the box marked "Enable AutoComplete".
(I found it annoying, as well...) |
