Range("A1") = UCase(Left(Range("A1"), 1)) & Mid(Range("A1"), 2)

I think Ivan's Text Case changer can do that (sentence case you want?)

Fairwinds, that was exactly what I was looking for, Thank you very much. Iridium, Ivans routine has it in there, but fairwinds single line is what I was after. Thanks to both of you for responding in such short order.

The following formula assumes A1 has the text you want to capitalize.

=CONCATENATE(UPPER(LEFT(A1,1)),RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-1))
