Hi.
I want to format a date as d/m. I can only find the american m/d which just won't makes sense here! This is not on the date or custom menu. And yes, my settings are set to English UK on the control panel. I have no idea how to create custom formats which I suspect might be required. Thanks, RET79 |

Hiya,
What happens if you go to Format-Cells-Custom and set the custom format as "d/m" (w/o the quotes) If I understand you correctly your trying to get a date like 4/16/02 to show as 16/4. I could get excel to do this on my machine - does excel spit that out on yours? Adam |

Regional Settings (Control Panel) on the General tab, choose English [United Kingdom] Excel will adapt accordingly. |

Aladin,
Sadly, I have done that this afternoon, and it came up English UK so yes I was disappointed that even with this setting correct that I was still getting american formats. The same thingis true for my laptop I will check again tomorrow to be absolutely sure. RET79 |

OK so I am biased saying this but
22/4/2002 is the logical way for dates. You are starting with the days, then month, then years. Who on earth thought up m.d.y I have no idea. Oh, and we drive on the correct side of the road too RET79 |
