=VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!$A$2:$B$1000,2,0)
What does the "2" and the "0" at the end of this formula mean? I have seen board members mention changing these last 2 numbers to suite your individual needs but, i don't know what these numbers do. Please advise. Thx, Noir |

The 2 in the formula is the column number in the lookup table you wish to return data from. The 2 means the 2nd column. The 0 is short for FALSE. A 1 would be the same as TRUE. When FALSE is chosen, Excel only returns a value when an EXACT match is found.

Beat me to it Lenze. Unhelpfully, the online Excel help does not explain that 0 can be typed instead of FALSE as the range_lookup.
