What was significant about January 2nd 1904 to make it an alternative date system ?

It has to do with backward compatability with previous systems. The 1904 system was designed to be compliant with MAC systems.
Dates before 1904 were not supported on MAC systems. I believe MAC wanted to avoid the fact that there is a missed leap year previous to 1904 i.e. 1900. [ This Message was edited by: Nimrod on 2002-05-05 13:57 ] |
