When I open the excel program. A personal worksheet opens first than a blank worksheet.
When I save any type of macros, it always saves them with a personal extention. How do I change this setting so Excel just opens with one worksheet? Thanks Mike |

look in your xlstart folder - the personal template is probably in there. if you remove it things should go back to normal.

jbyrne: Be careful.
If you're saving macros to use in ANY file, they're stored in the personal.xls file. If you've deleted it, any macros in it will no longer be available to you. The personal.xls file is usually hidden, but it sounds as if yours is not. You can close Excel, and restore that file from your recycle bin. Now, open Excel. Go to the personal.xls workbook. Hit Window-Hide. And then you should only see *book1*. Then close Excel. You'll be asked if you want to save personal.xls, and you DO. Now, not only should Excel work properly, but your macros will be available too. For more info on XLSTART and startup folders, check this out: http://www.thewordexpert.com/excel.htm#StartupFolders Hope this helps! Good work, anno!
