Help with excel 2000

Has anyone ever seen this error message when opening a spread sheet?

"System Error & H80070057 (-2147024809) The parameter is incorrect."

How do I resolve this?

wil the sheet still open or close leaving excel open?

Looks like you probably have a damaged file.

By clicking OK the sheet can be opened and functions properly. When exiting it saves data and works fine.

ok try opening the file and save as *any new name* close excel totally and open the new file

does this still happen>
