When the sheet is protected the hyperlink button in the "standard" commandbar (1) greys out.
I wish to make this available when the sheet is protected. I am having difficulty understanding the syntax even when I read Office unleashed. Can anyone help with a one liner that will unprotect the hyperlink button when in protect mode. Thanks. |

This is by design, you can't do quite a number of things when the sheet is protected and, unfortunately in your case, Editing or Inserting hyperlinks is one of them.

Can I at least create a toolbar "my bar" which would do what the hyperlink pop up would.
Unleashed implies you can create your own but I am unsure of the method. |

You can create a toolbar, but the Hyperlink button wouldn't work when the sheet is protected, unfortunately. About the best you could do would be to have a button that unprotects the sheet first, but you might as well just do that from the Excel menu-bar, really.
