I am looking for a function which can convert/translate the value into text. For example, if I have a value "1000" in cell A1 then I would it to display "one thousand dollar" in cell B1. Can anyone suggest me how to do it automatically as I have to do it manually in thousand of cells.

Thank you. On My computer "SpellNumber" function does not work. Do you know why? But the other example works.

Tum,
it's a user-defined function, not an in-built one... if you scroll down on that sheet, it gives you the code you need to enter in your VBA module thingy before it will work by just typing =SPELLNUMBER if you follow the link in Aladin's suggestion, it has an addin that has already done all this for you (and a whole lot more), which I personally think is more convenient anyhow,
