You're working on a sheet, say "sheet 1", and have a formula on that sheet which includes a cell on the same sheet. Why do I sometimes see that instead of showing A1 in the formula, it shows 'Sheet 1'!A1, as if it were picking up from another sheet?

While entering a formula in a worksheet (WS1)you navigate to another (WS2) and return back to WS1, Excel will prefix the cells/ranges from WS1 with WS1!. |
