Excel has started dividing by 100 every number I input. So if I input 2000 I see 20 in the cell. It happens in every cell in every worksheet including new worksheets. If I type 2000.00 I see the correct view, eg 2000, otherwise it's wrong.

Sounds like you've got fixed decimals turned on.
Go to Tools|Option|Edit tab and see if the box next to fixed decimals is checked. |

go to your Excel options, click on the edit tab, and deselect the "fixed decimal" option.
