We'd like to randomly select 80 numbers from a specified list of 1200 values. While the =RAND() function returns a random value between 0 and 1, is there a way to use it or some other function to randomly generate a number from a range, say 1-1200.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Mark and Jessica |

Hi guys,
How about:
Please God no! Not another huge *** random number discussion. We all accept that these will just be pseudo-random. (sorry, don't ask) |

To get RANDBETWEEN, you need to install the analysis tool pak in the Add-Ins from the Tools menu.

Thanks!
The RANDBETWEEN() function was precisely what we were looking for! And I looked in the archives to find how to use the advanced filter to remove duplicates. This is an excellent forum! Thanks again!!!! Mark & Jessica |
