Can?t get column of all cap names converted to upper/lower. Did this: Clicked on [ = ] preceding formula bar. Selected PROPER as function syntax in NAME box to left of the [ X check = ] formula area. A window opened saying: [ FORMULA RESULT = OK CANCEL ]. Click OK & this window closed & in the 1A field the word FIRM is changed to [ #NAME? ]
From here (and maybe even before here) I?m lost as to how to proceed. Following is typical source column A data. NAME is the column heading in position A1 FLIPCHART is the 1st firm name beginning in column A2. NAME FLIPCHART GERE'S ALTERNATIVE CHOICES HELPING HANDS HIGH TECH MEDICAL USA HOLISTIC MEDICAL SUPPLY CO Etc...... What is needed to cause each word in column to convert with capital 1st letter & remainder of letters in lower case? Running EXCEL 2000 on Win98se Compaq tower. Will greatly appreciate help on this. Thanks. conway-c@pacbell.net 5-12-02 Sun. |

If the Word or Pharse is in A1 then copy the following into B1
=PROPER(A1) if you have values in A2 copy formula from b1 to b2 etc
