New to Excel 2000 VBA, I've written a couple of macros in a couple of Excel spreadsheets, storing them in personal.xls. One colleague's spreadsheet had a password.
Now I want to go back into Excel, but cannot use personal.xls because it's locked. This is all on my laptop, no-one else s/be using it. Laptop has been off overnight. Ideas how to unlock my own work gratefully received. Thanks and regards. Nigel. |

I get this quite a bit. Could anyone else be using your log in? Is your system part of a network? The other cause could be that you're trying to access it in a shared workbook? |

Thanks for your help.
I cleared the problem by rebooting the laptop standalone, and working in Excel there. Whether that's the whole story remains to be seen, but I consider this closed for now. Regards, Nigel. |

If that sought of thing happens again,go to the properties of the specific folder and add yourself as an administrator and allow all uses for the worksheet. |
