Another question.
I have some formulas in cells but I want to prevent anyone typing over them by mistake. Is there a way to do this? |

Try this-
Select areas where you want to allow people to type in data. Click of Format Cells- Protection and uncheck the locked box. Then click on Tools- Protection- Protect Sheet, enter a password if you want. |

several ways, this being the easiest. Right click on the sheet tab and select view code. Then in the properties box, usually at the bottom left of the screen input where the range you want people to be able to edit in the scroll area. e.g a1:b10

Hi,
Select the cells you want to allow editing in and choose Format, Cells. Then choose the Protection tab and uncheck the Locked checkbox. Then protect your worksheet. You'll still be able to edit the Unlocked cells but any other cells will be protected. HTH, Dan |

Perfect! I knew it'd be easy and I thought I used to know how but I guess not. Very handy!
Cheers. Greg |

Try replying to our friends overseas then, and watch in amazement as the screen tells you it took you half a day |

Bloody Hell! I replied to mudface and was presented with about 8 essays worth of answers (slight exaggeration). If only all life's problems were solved so easily (like me about to ask my boss for Monday off, for example-fingers crossed)
Thank you all, I guess it was an easy question then? Greg |
