In Excel, when plotting X-Y scatter plot, with more than one Y-series, if one or more y-value is omitted,
the point to point line will not connect up. THe data symbols are there okay. Any ideas on how to get the line to connect? |

Right click on the data point on the chart, and go to chart type, choose line. Does this work

Greetings,
I know what you mean - I've beat my head against the wall on that same problem. I couldn't find an auto solution but it's not that hard for a manual workaround. Basically enter the appropriate point in the blank cell. If you're dealing with a blank cell between 6 and 10, type an 8 in blank cell. Then - select that point/format selected data point, and remove the point marker but keep the line. The drawback to this (other than being a blatantly manual process) is that you might have to strip that cell out of other calculations (totals and so forth). Hope that helps, Adam |

Just put =NA() for every missing point and line will connect.
