Hi, everyone,
I have a web page that needs to link to statistics in Excel. The page is actually to generate report for diferrent councils and groups within my department. I keep seperate workbook for each of the councils/groups. What i want to do is having a macro with dropdown menu, allowing the user to choose their relative councils/groups, then Excel will extract the workbook that matches the councils/groups chosen. Is it possible to achieve this? Pls help. Rgrds, nc |

No reason to go into an Excel workbook from a web page and then click on a link to another workbook. Now if you want to do this in Excel. You can easily record macros that will open the respective workbooks. So, the question is how to build a dropdown menu that will initiate different macros depending on what choice is selected. Anyone? Philip [ This Message was edited by: PDuPre' on 2002-05-15 05:23 ] |

well, philip
i think u got me wrong for the requirement. I know i can choose the related workbook from a dropdown list in a webpage. I can do that easily but i need to store all the files(workbook) in a database, then link to that db(which is a more organized way) to do a search. but what i want is when a user wants a report, he/she will click on a link to Excel then a macro runs, asking user to choose their group, then the report corresponds to the group will be generated. Confused? here's the clearer requirement: 1. A dropdown list on macro 2. Search for the matching report(workbook) from the selction made from the dropdown list Any help? anyway, thanks, philip for replying to this. regards, nc |
