Toolbars

I am having problems with toolbars.
I have an application that creates XL Workbooks with data depending on selections.
They are created by opening a Workbook used as a template and then inserting the data and some formats using code. The workbooks are emailed to users.
The template workbook has a custom toolbar and code ('macros') launched by the buttons on the toolbar.
Works fine most of the time but frequently the buttons are referencing macros on the wrong workbooks.

Am I doing this the wrong way?
