I have the following strings starting in cell A1 thru to A5:

Stevens,John,20,421 Poster av,Loftus
Smith,Kate,30,153 Matin pl,Bexley
Farchi,Paul,35,54 HappyMeal ln,Hurstville
Ng,Simon,35,23 Sky rd,Loftus
Rorris,Vickey,40,11 Bellview Hw,Lotus

I would like to extract the data in the following manner:

Stevens, in cell b1, john in cell C1 etc etc.

Likewise I would like have the ability to run this from VB, it would be appreciated if anyone can help with my question thanks

Hi rogerd,
1) From ToolBar select Data | Text to Columns
2) It opens a 3 step WIZARD, follow instructions:
3) Tick on Delimited and enter Comma as your delimiter
4)Finish and it's done

About making it by VBA - you can record the proccess/
