Try to word it though. The problem as well as, if a solution exists, its solution can be of interest to others.

okey,

does this work

In column J you type on which floor the radiator(s) are(0=basement, 1= first floor ect)
in column K, you type how many radiators are in a specifig room on the corresponding floor.
Column J should give these radiators a number. (which Im trying to do)

I got this so far (in column J)
=(J24&IF(COUNTIF($J$24:J24,J24)>=10,COUNTIF($J$24:J24,J24),"0"&COUNTIF($J$24:J24,J24)))

this does nor take into account the values in column K (but it needs to do so).

Can you guys see the pattern ,how the "radiator number" is gotten?

please respond if you dont understand what Im trying to do.

You can not post pictures on your hard drive to the internet. For an explanation why, see this post, as I just don't feel like typing it all out again.

It seems you're trying to generate a radiator code.

If so, give an example of such a code and tell from which cells its parts must come.

This is off topic for the actual Excel question, but I could see both the picture here and the picture Von Pookie posted in the other thread, where she said, "It won't show up this way."

So, apparently, you guys are smarter than you think, or else I'm just more visionary than I thought.

sadly not.... Von Pookie's image is always visible, whereas Stone's original image wasn't, then he changed its scource and it became visible.... at which point you must have seen the whole thread....sorry !
