I have a spreadsheet that I want to put the date it was created in a cell - quite simply using TODAY() - thats not the problem. I want that to be the date that stays there. Everytime I open the spreadsheet it updates the date to the day I opened it - BUT I want the original date.
What formula / way can I do this? Thanks Simon |

CNTRL and ; will add the date (well, it does on mine) I suppose you could then protect that cell if needed

If the date should always stay wouldn't you just type the date into the cell?
