I've seen lots of questions regarding this, but no answer. Please Help! I have a series of data points (time in hours) on the x-axis. They range from 1 to 30 with a point for each hour, with a y value data point (let's say mass) for each time point. I have generated a curve based on the mass for time points 1-5 hours. The remainder of the time points (6-30) shows no difference in mass. How do I put a break in the x-axis so that I can show the curve (time points 1 thru 5), using an x-axis scal for these time points only, AND put a break to the final time point (30 hours) without showing time points 6 thru 29 and without adjusting the scale on the x-axis for thirty time points? Sorry if my request is unclear, and I would welcome any feedback. Thanks!

Tushar Mehta has a "broken y-axis" example on his website.
http://www.tushar-mehta.com Possibly you can adapt this to your needs. HTH, Jay |

I need help in showing breaks in plots with gaps in the x-axis similar to what "superoxide" posted in May, 2002. Have tried attempting to adapt Jon Peltier's & Tusher - Metha's approaches for handling the y-axis breaks without success.
Can some help me out, as am in a tight corner. Any idea or suggestion will be mostly appreciated. |
