How to best summarize data

WS has 3 columns with these labels in A1, B1 & C1 - Month, Reason, Operator. Sample data (there are hundreds of lines for each month):
1 6 294
1 3 288
1 6 79
1 6 294
2 9 A02
2 6 294
2 0 294
2 6 83

For each month (1=Jan, etc) I want to know how many times each reason code appears and how many times each operator code appears. Operator codes may include alpha characters.

What's the simplest way to summarize this data?
