Which is better to use when creating a database, Access or Excel? Why?

If your requirements are particularly data base oriented, seleting records, organizing information, etc, and you do not need the versatility of Excel, Access is prefered. One can start in Excel, and if one outgrows Excel's database ecapabilities, one can port the data to Access, or have Excel and Access work together. Regards! I second the use of Excel, for many reasons:
You can select printer programmatically. There is also a dialog you can call, so the user can select a printer. Don't forget the SaveSetting GetSetting functions to save settings to Registry. The Excel VBA editor is much nicer. If you need to format print, just assign a worksheet for that duty. It's just a much more versatile environment. |
