I am trying to create a schedule for salaried employees; therefore, total time does not matter, rather the total DAYS worked. I would like an employee's total number of days worked separated into weekend and weekdays.
The format will be column "A" with days of the week and column "B" with the empolyees names. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. ] Thank you in advance. Candace. |

You'll have to give us a little more than that, I think.
What column do you want to add or count? Perhaps you just need sumif formulas. See: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/topic.htm Look under Timesheets and also under sumif and countif to see if you find anything you like. He's got downloads too. Sounds to me like your setup is a little odd. Please don't take offense.

As Dreamboat suggested, more details would help. However I made some assumptions about the layout of your data, and I used the DCOUNT function. The criteria is in cells C1:E2, and the DCOUNT formulas are in cells C7 and E7. You enter the name in cell D7. The simulation shows number of weekdays and weekends worked by Bailey. If you set this up in your worksheet and you key-in Adams in cell D7, you will get days worked by Adams as 4 weekdays (cell C7), and 2 weekend days (in cell E7). For a worksheet simulation see the following:
Click on a hyperlinked cell to see the underlying formula in the cell You can also use the Advanced Filter for your problem, and other people on the board will probably have even more suggestions.
