Hi all,
I would like to share a customized menu with other users in my office. I have no problems creating the menu on my PC, but I am having problems sharing it with others. In Excel I would like the menu to be available at all times and thus it can't be file related. The j-walker macro is great but will close upon closing a file. This menu will be changing as I add new functions, so I have to be able to update the file or template easily. The PC's are networked so a centrally located file or template would be ideal. At the moment the only way I have been able to do this is to go from PC to PC. We have 3 PCs using Excel 97, 2 Excel 2000 and 1 using Excel 2002 (XP). I've been able to do exactly what I want in Word by loading a global template. It works great and is very easy to manage. With Excel I must be missing something as it just shouldn't be this hard. Thanks Matthew Keyser |

I don't know if you could create a Book.xlt template, and put it in the same shared folder that you have your Word templates.

I think I had the same problems as you. The way to reslove it so that your custom menus can be used on other machines is to attach the menu bar to the work book. This is found by going to the customize option and selecting the 'attach' option on the toolbars tab. When you add or change something what I do is go to 'attach' select the menu in you work book delete it and then re select it on the other side and copy it over.
I hope this makes sense and helps |
