On one worksheet in a 2.5Mb file, with plenty of network links, data in about 10 cells can't be changed. When I try to alter the data, it shuts down Excel by producing an access error in a Dr Watson for NT display box. I can't even save the file to another location - it shuts down the file and Excel with the same error. Any ideas?

Hi TPL001.
I have had similiar extreme frustrations with the good ole "Access Violation" on NT. I only wish I could offer you some specific reason on the why's. The only suggestion I can give, hopefully someone else can help you more, is to search Microsoft's knowledge base... If you wish, you can send me the file. If I can duplicate the error on my machine, I may be able to figure a fix. Have always managed a workaround in the past when I have run up against the NT wall. I wish you success! Tom |

Tom,
Thanks for the sympathy. It does occur on other PCs, so the error is workbook dependant; hence, there is no point sending it to you, though I appreciate the offer. We have created another worksheet, replacing the problem one, but the error still remains. I am going to try and strip down the work book to eliminate possible causes. Thanks again, Troy. |
