I am need of some assistance. In one column I have over 500 names and some most are duplicated. Is there a quick way to get rid of the duplicates

I would do this by creating a 'count' pivot table then copying the first column, which should contain each name once.

Depending on what you are trying to do, and advanced filter might be the way to go. Select Data..Filter..Advanced filter, select your data, and check the "Unique records only" box. You can also get it to copy the unique list to another location if that is what you want it to do. Have a play with it!
