I keep track of my monthly investiments of mutual funds in excel....I am trying to find the dollar cost average of my investiments...I know my monthly investiment amounts, the share price at the time of investiment, and therefore the number of shares i purchased. Am i missing something very elementary, or is there a trick to finding the DCA? I am using excel 2000.";

Hi,
Cost/shares will give your average cost. If you have your shares in one column, unit price in another, you can use =SUMPRODUCT((shares range)*(unit cost range))/SUM(shares range) Be careful with any sales/redemptions mixed in. HTH, Jay |
