OLE or DDE

Could someone describe the advantages or disadvantages between OLE and DDE? Im using DDE for data acquisition now and thinking abouy using OLE...

I've not used DDE, but have talked to people who do this kind of thing for a living, and they say OLE is much faster and more robust. DDE is also much older technology and will become obsolete sooner (depending on if you ever need to migrate to newer systems).
