Hi,
I created a PERSONAL.XLS the other day and now I can't get rid of it. I have deleted PERSONAL.XLS from the XLSTART directory and scanned for other copies even on the network. Still every time I go to record a macro it wants to store it in PERSONAL.XLS. Also it says that the workbook is hidden and refuses to let me edit it? Exactly how do you unhide this workbook and then get rid of it? Thanks in advance! All suggestions appreciated. Rocky... [ This Message was edited by: Rocky E on 2002-05-21 13:00 ] |

hi
why do you want to get rid of that ? I think it's a very usefull book to store personal makro that I would like to store and use daily. If you have deleted all occurences of personal.xls it's gone but excel will always ask that question when you record a macro and if you choose to store i personal excel will make a new file called personal. So you can delete it, but you'll get a new one if you store a makro in it. You unhide it under "Window / Show" regards Tommy |

Thanks Tommy,
If you Insert a Module in the workbook it will stop the prompt for PERSONAL.XLS. I guess I must have always had a macro or two already stored. The reason I don't want a PERSONAL.XLS is I am working on a XLA for others that may already have one. Users get upset when you overwrite their stuff. Thanks again... Rocky...
