Excel crash

I have Excel2000 installed on a WinMe laptop.
If the laptop is logged to the network, I can't open Excel (starting but freeze during loading and seems is looking for a file on the network)
If I disconnect it from the network Excel is loading without any problem.
Any ideea how can I fix that problem?

Check the Tools, Options file paths. You may be trying to access something on the network that is no longer there. Or hook it up and let it try while you get a cup. Neworks have some long time outs.
