I did not know what the “rule of 78” was, but a search on google returned this information, hope it helps you some

if you've not heard of it...you probably won't know what is it... no matter how specific i can try to be....
anyway, it's a method of calculating loans settlement amount by lender (financial institutions). so the question here is "Can anyone provide a spreadsheet that can generate the settlement table computed using the "Rule of 78" formula... now, somebody learns something new today... |

We have a spreadsheet that we use at work for calculating the interest component for a rule of 78.
