Hello

I am trying to download comma seperated data into Excel. No problems there. I need it to be comma delimited file.

Then I go to Data/Text to columns and go through the process to make it a comma delimited file.

When I do this, the credit card number (that was fine in the comma seperated file) hides part of itself - i.e becomes 4.97848E+15.

Is there anyway I can get that full credit card number back?

Thanks for any assistance.

Brendon,

Welcome!

Are you setting the credit card field to text?

Thanks Paddy

I think I am doing that (I'm new at this stuff).

I am clicking on data/Text to columns... which sounds like it!
What should I be doing?

Thanks.

Once you've got the delimiters set as you want (step 2 of 3 in the 'text to columns' process, the next step (3 of 3!) allows you to specify a format for the data. Select the column that contains your crdit card numbers and select text from the 'column data format' options. Click finish!
