I use the subtotal function on the data menu. I usually use the sum option to calculate numeric data. However, I need alpha data that isn't included in the subtotals. Is there any way to quickly copy the line above each subtotal line? I currently enter =A1 to copy the data to the subtotal line in A2. I then highlight the data in line A2 and use the Control key to highlight each subtotal line to copy the formula. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If you want to do this for one row, you make use of goto special under the edit menu (or control G. Collapse your subtotal list, copy your formula, highlight the column, hit control G, special, visable cells only, okay, and finally control V to paste. good luck
