What should I check when I get "#####" value of cell ? I tried Cell Properties, changing data type to numerical, but with no success. Values are called from other workbook; and "#####" happens just to some cells - for e.g. on cell C34 ; next one (C35) is OK, although having same cell properties. Any ideas ? |

It means that your column isn't wide enough to show all of the data correctly. Make the column wider.

The '#####' error appears when the column is not wide enough to display the data in the cell. This problem only occurs when the cell contains numeric data, not text.

Thanks, you're right. Width of cell was the problem - Excel wanted to show me value error... Another mystery; cell is filled with data from other workbook, cell properties are OK... and it shows !Value ... |

What does the formula look like in the cell that returns #Value! and what is the formula in the cell that is being referenced?
This error typically means that the wrong type of argument was used in a function. |

Yes, that's strange... Cell value is referenced to other workbook, using for example " ='C:ExcelC[a1.xls]'!Q56 " Reference is OK (other cells are filled correctly), that other workbook exists, even data types are the same - so why some cell values can't be retrieved ? |

Btw... One important thing - it happens only if source cell is empty ; when some number is entered, problem disappears. But - why other cells respond to empty source by displaying standard "0" , and just a few of 'em display error message ? Cell data types are the same. |

I haven't the foggiest idea. Perhaps one of the real spreadsheet experts can answer.

First I thought - maybe that file isn't readable all the time (it's on diskette)... but other cells are filled, so it's hardly a reason. Anyone, some suggestions ? |
