I have two sheets of zip codes that i am trying to vlookup off of and even though the two sheets are in the same format, the vlookup doesn't recognize the cells until I "f2" and then hit "enter". only after i hit "f2" and then "enter" am i able to get the desired result. HELP! I have over 16K zip codes that I need to query off of in the vlookup.

with 15,000 lookup functions, are you sure you're waiting for it to finish calculating ?
bottom right - if it says "calculating" you need to wait till it's finished... JUst guessing here... |

It is definitely calculating. the problem is that excel recognizes some cells as numbers and others as characters even though the formatting is the same.
