Results at the Elite Eight:
Rayc remains in first place with 74 points, although the possible dropped
to 97 with Syracuse unable to sink a three-point shot.
BigAng75 also has 74 points and a possible of 93 because Wake Forest is out.
The highest possible is Brian Roberts with 73 points and 105 possible.
With 6 top-seeded teams making the Elite Eight, only RayC, Brian Roberts,
Ken O'Connor and Michael Attenborough finished with 7 wins in Round 3.
#3 Missiouri is one of two #3 seeds to remain. 18 players had picked Missiouri to go this far:
AndrewF, BanjoTom, Brad Poyser, Brian Roberts, Carl Carick, Fred Schneider, Gregg Wishna,
Island Mom, Jim Pickett, Ken McLean, lewis wickline, Linda Brewster, Lora White, Michael
Attenborough, Randy_Rett, Rayc, Robert Beaslin, Tatia Beaslin
#3 Villanova also made the elite eight. 28 players had picked Villanova to get this far:
Alexander the Great, bigang75, Bill Jelen, Brian Pierce, Brian Roberts, Chad Terhune,
CompuShmoo, Dennis Morgan, Drug Lord, Hurricane AJ, Island Mom, Jason Hulstein, John
Ozmore, VA, Ken O'Connor, Liann Capalini, Michael Attenborough, Mr. Steve, Neil Dell
Amazingly, no one chose Villanova nor Missouri to make it to the final 4.
At this point, with 7 games to go, there are 128 different ways that the tournament
can play out. 31 players can still finish in the top 3 in at least one of those scenarios.
Brian Roberts will finish in the money in 52 of the 128 possible scenarios.
Michael Attenborough and RayC can finish in the money in 48 of the scenarios.

WhoCanWin.xls
The WhoCanWin spreadsheet illuminates some fascinating things. Thoughout many years in these
tournaments, I always focus on who is winning now. WhoCanWin shows what can happen in the
future. There are 31 people who can still win, but where are those 31 people currently? I compared the
list of 31 to the standings list (of course using =MATCH()…).
Some surprises:
#51 Jim Pickett has a chance to vault in to the top 3!. It would happen only in 2 out of 128 scenarios,
but it shows how you can really gain ground by choosing something out of the ordinary.
Why can Jim move up that much? Because only he and Island Mom have Pitt beating Uconn in the final.
#41 Tom Murray can still finish in the top 3
#39 Dennis Morgan still has a chance
#36 Luke Wren is still in it
#35 Banjo Tom is still in it.
Amazingly, #13 Lenze is out. Memphis is out of the tournament, limiting his possible.
#20 Brian Pierce and #21 Bob McGeehan are out - too many people ahead of you also have NC.
