Whats On My Desk

Amber MacArthur, Bill Jelen, Leo LaPorte, Andy Walker on the set of Call for Help on TechTV Canada.
Thanks for reading about what's on my desk in The Verb!
When I discover a cool new technology, I write about it at my site. Here are some that I mentioned in
the article:
- BaseCamp is the amazing new collaboration site. It is great for working with a co-author. It is
free for 30 days, and free for single project accounts after that. But beware - you will be hooked and be tempted to sign up for a monthly plan.
I don't know how I lived without it. Read my complete review here.
- Pandora.com is a brilliant radio service. You build your own radio station by specifying one artist or song.
As they play songs, give the songs a thumbs up or down. Soon, you have a radio station tuned to your mood.
- Microsoft OneNote is a great note-taking tool from Microsoft. Contrary to popular belief, it works great on a desktop as well
as a tablet PC. I love the product so much, I co-authored a book about it.
- Office 12 is an amazing new upgrade that is coming in the fall. Take a look at my review of Excel 12.
- Podcasting is the future. I've taken my last book and am slowly giving it all away via Video Podcast. You can watch
this on your PC (no iPod required!). For complete details on getting the podcast, visit http://www.mrexcel.com/tip106.shtml
- And, I really have given away 2.2 million chapters of Learn Excel from MrExcel. My hope is that you will love the book
and ask to stop getting weekly chapters and just buy the whole book. But, you are free to hang in there and get the entire book -
for free - through a series of weekly Tuesday e-mails. Sign up here
