Webinar on how to "Develop a Risk Universe for Excel Spreadsheets" & "Using Microsoft Excel as an Audit Tool"

Training Event Brought To You By MrExcel.com and AuditSoftware.Net

Date: October 16, 2007

Time: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. EST

CPE: 2 CPE Credit is available for attending the seminar. View additional information on CPE credits.

Course Introduction: Excel has permeated all of our business processes as it provides a flexible and simple-to-create development platform. However, the mini-systems built in Excel can be rife with errors given the lack of software methodology, poor security, and ease-of-change that comes with the Excel territory.

So how can you assess the risk of your entire Excel universe? You could manually open spreadsheets and assess them against a checklist of common list of risk symptoms. That process could take months to finish and, once done, all of the spreadsheets under review could have been changed….for the worse.

What’s needed is a methodology and set of automated solutions (provided free with the webinar) that allow you to efficiently analyze your entire Excel risk universe, in minutes. You will be left with a “Top 10 List” of risky Excel spreadsheets for deeper analysis. With this list, you will also need to understand the techniques for validating these sheets and correcting any problems. This new understanding will open your eyes to the powerful data analysis tools within Excel for the benefit of all business professionals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to risk assess an entire population of Excel spreadsheets in minutes using automated tools.
  • Adopt a consistent methodology for scoring spreadsheets based on their impact and likelihood for failure.
